From First Principles

We build the infrastructure we always wanted.

We’re re-architecting the data streaming for a world that runs in real time — faster, simpler, and radically more efficient.

Our Mission

Build the data plane for real-time systems — and make it invisible.

The best infrastructure fades into the background. It’s fast, reliable, and predictable enough that teams stop thinking about it. That’s the bar: every release, every request, every millisecond.

Principles

Realtime is the baseline

Not a feature. Systems should operate in real time by default.

Simplicity at scale

Complexity is a cost. We remove it wherever possible.

Open by design

Control stays with the user: architecture, deployment, and economics.

Founders

Builders of real-time systems.

After decades of building and scaling infrastructure, engineering cultures, we set out to rebuild the data plane from the ground up.

Portrait of Kranti Parisa

Kranti Parisa

Co-founder & CEO

Kranti leads the company and its product and engineering strategy. A long-time Apache contributor, he led bringing Iggy into the Apache Software Foundation, establishing neutral governance for adoption. A systems engineer with leadership depth, he combines deep technical fluency with the operating discipline to turn open-source systems into durable enterprise infrastructure.

Previously: Kranti led large-scale search and personalization platforms at Apple, Comcast and product engineering for high-scale, real-time communications systems at Dialpad. He has co-founded and advised startups across cloud computing, SaaS, and enterprise search, contributed to Apache Lucene, Solr, and Camel, and co-authored books on Apache Solr Enterprise Search Server & Reliable Machine Learning.

Portrait of Piotr Gankiewicz

Piotr Gankiewicz

Co-founder & CTO

Piotr leads engineering and steers the core protocol. He is the original creator of Apache Iggy: designer of its initial architecture, layered runtime, binary schema, transport protocol stack, storage design, public API surface, and the foundations of both the connectors runtime and the official client SDKs.

Previously: Software architect across fintech, trading systems, and cybersecurity. Microsoft MVP for open source contributions. Co-founder of DevMentors.io, where his courses have empowered thousands of developers worldwide.

Portrait of Dave Rensin

Dave Rensin

Advisor & Board Member

Dave is a Distinguished Engineer at Google and Technical Advisor to Alphabet's senior leadership. A pioneer of Site Reliability Engineering, he founded Google's Customer Reliability Engineering (CRE) organization. At LaserData, Dave works closely with the core team on reliability and cloud strategy.

Previously: Dave was a serial entrepreneur and co-founded multiple companies with successful exits, including Riverbed Technologies (>$1B acquisition). He has also held senior leadership roles across Google, AWS, and high-growth startups, and is a bestselling author, public speaker, and inventor with multiple patents in distributed systems, cloud computing, and mobile technologies.

Our Team

Small by design. High by standard.

We hire with intent and deliberately. Some have shipped infrastructure used at scale. The rest keep the bar where it belongs.

Our Culture

Lean team. High leverage. Precision over compromise.

We build systems that are fast, efficient, and built to last. We avoid bloat, reject complexity for its own sake, and focus on what actually matters.

01

Open source obsession.

We build in the open, contribute back to the ecosystem, and keep portability and transparency at the center of every technical decision.

02

Every millisecond counts.

Latency is a product feature. We sweat every path and every hop because milliseconds compound across the entire stack.

03

Small teams, deep ownership.

The people who design a system own its rollout, its on-call, and the customer outcome. No hand-offs, no finger-pointing.

04

Ruthless focus.

We choose fewer priorities, execute deeply, and avoid shiny distractions that do not move customer outcomes.

05

Ship like a craftsperson.

Ship small and often. We care about clean systems, readable code, operational excellence, and products we are proud to put our name on.

06

Take care of each other.

High standards, no ego. We invest in one another's growth, debate hard, decide clearly, and treat candor as an act of respect.

Come build with us

If latency & efficiency in data infrastructure matters to you, we should talk.

We hire deliberately and remotely. If you care about systems, craft, and the people who depend on both, we would love to meet you.
